So I've not been in an actual office since the end of May. And even though it is technically true that I work from home, there are very very few days that I don't go out into the community in some form for my job. I think my job is really interesting, so I thought I'd share Tuesday, August 18.
I still get up with Nathan every morning. It is really important to me not to sleep the day away. I made my smoothie and was settled in for my reading at 7am.
Last night, reading won out over cleaning the kitchen. So I knew I had to remedy that first thing. I don't know why I hate cleaning the kitchen so much. It only took 2.5 songs. Still, I am so so thankful that Nathan usually takes this chore.
Since I was feeling it, I went ahead and did my chore for today: laundry. I sometimes have real issues with laundry, but I have realized that is because I tend to let it get overwhelming. Two loads? Totally manageable. And it feels great to look into my drawers and see what I need.
I like to get to local trails twice (if not three times) a week for work. I like sharing scenery for popular running/walking trails on social media. I walked a few miles and ran into a friend and made running plans.
I set my camera up in the park for some yoga. But, again, the camera shifted. The video shows this lunge and then the sky. The bugs were bad. I should've quit. But my Warrior 3 felt super strong and long. And I'm finding more space in my forward fold with my hands behind my back. So there's progress. Even if I am super itchy now.
I came home from the park, showered, and whipped up some chicken salad.
Then, around 11, I sat down to get my computer work for the day done. A few emails to send, a graphic to create, social media posts for this afternoon. And I ate a chicken salad sandwich.
I went to the Humane Society for a tour and to set up the Pet of the Month campaign. This little guy is just the absolute sweetest.
I had 30 minutes before I had to start getting ready for my next gig - and I knew I wouldn't get home for a while - so I took a break with a book.
On Tuesdays, I bring water support to one of our local running clubs. I set up in a park that is around mile 2 of the 3 mile route. I get a shaded spot and tons of runner interactions. It just might be my favorite part of the week. Also file under more bug bites.
We came home. I made gnocchi with meat sauce. We watched Seinfeld. I sent a few emails. And then I fell asleep on the couch around 9:30. An hour later, Nathan woke me up to do my nighttime routine and go to bed.
and that's my day!
