Oh, sweet friends. I thought I was going to have a serious fit. A few weeks ago, I went to Erin Condren's website to purchase a second big notebook for my Curvy Yoga Teacher Training notes. And the notebooks were GONE. Like no sign of them. And I panicked a little. I mean, what if all of my notes didn't match?!? Oh, the horror.
Some of you get me.
But just as quickly as they were gone, they were back! And I have two new beauties!
Both of these designs are updates of previous designs. The big notebook is a new take on the paisley design and I think it is super lovely. And I love the new two-tone jolly jester design on the little notebook. I opted for the additional calendar in the smaller notebook. There was some serious sticker shock for a notebook with a calendar, but I knew I would use it. I knew I needed it. So I took the leap.
And, to be totally honest, I'm not sure how I feel about this calendar. I do cut them out and put them in my notebook before the month of notes. (And future months are in the back.) I am not sure that I like the perpetual-ness of the calendar. I feel like the stickers are loud and confusing with all of the notes I put on the calendar. I just don't know about it. I also really really miss the quote at the top. I think it looks empty and lonely.
Erin Condren has made a lot of changes in the past year or so. I know a lot of us miss the super-customization, but the improvement in customer service is worth it to me. I placed my last order on a Thursday and it arrived at my house on Wednesday (I paid 9.95 for 3-5 day shipping). Less than a week. When I received my package, the date stickers were not included. I emailed customer service when I opened the box (late Wednesday evening), and I had the stickers in my pretty little hand on Friday evening via overnight shipping. So that was super super impressive.
So, how else do I use Erin Condren goodies? Let me count the ways!
I adore my desk calendar. I had it on my desk at work, but I just brought it home. It may be overkill, but it is pretty overkill.
I use my wall calendar as my editorial calendar. I love having such a large view of where I am. And how I'm working ahead. I will get to color in the corner of the 17th as soon as I finish this post!
I keep this monthly calendar in our kitchen. It is a nice "where are we supposed to be" calendar. It helps me plan which nights to cook what.
This notebook is my bestie. I love how beautiful it turned out. And it just makes me happy. I have a feeling this will be the cover that I carry around on lots and lots of different notebooks.
My notebook/DIY planner weekly spread looks like this. Left-hand page is my list of to-dos for the week. This system works really well for me because lots of things don't have to happen on specific days. Just my weekly list. The right page is where I break down specific projects into smaller pieces. I have to get work done on my Curvy Yoga Teacher Training project this week. The bottom half of the page? That's top secret.
And then I have my weekly spread. I'm still playing with getting this right. In the past, I've just used one page and created a 4x2 spread. This week I have 7 long rows across two pages. But I'm thinking of lining it out differently next week - a 2x2 on each page. I haven't completely decided. But I don't commit to anything for more than a week, so I get to figure it out. Oh, the joys of DIY. (And this process takes me about half an hour. I usually work on it while I'm watching tv on Sunday evenings. Sometimes Fridays.)
It doesn't end there, my friends. I love this full-sized notebook. It is where I keep all of my yoga teacher training notes. I am one of those people that rewrite all of my notes nice and pretty, and with color-coded pens.
And this full-sized notebook is for my secret project. Something I'm not telling you guys? Yes. Can you believe it?
It looks super full because it is super full. I'm using these tabs to insert worksheets into the notebook. These little things are just genius. And I love having everything in one place.
I plan on taking the empty pages out when I'm finished and inserting them into another large notebook. Not only so that I don't waste paper, but so the notebook isn't as stuffed.
So, whatever your method, whatever your products, whatever your pen of choice - have fun with your organizing! And, if you use Erin Condren, use my affiliate link!
What is going on around here...
Think about the choices you make every once in a while that just feel downright good. Wouldn't you like to make them more often?
It may be loading the dishwasher before you go to work. Or putting on eye shadow. Or choosing different shoes than the one you've worn for the past two weeks.
It may be a quick yoga series before bed. Or taking some time to plan your dream vacation. Or checking your bank account.
Where are you finding space in your day to do the things that create ease and satisfaction? And how often? Let's do this together.
What if coaching isn't really for me?
What if coaching doesn't help me at all?
What if I work with a coach and nothing changes?
I have a different question for you...What if it does?
